Two Classes. Real Technique. Minneapolis This October.
This October, I am teaching two workshops at the Fine Finish Expo in Minneapolis, Minnessotta. Two classes, two very different material categories, and a full day of hands-on work for decorative painters, professional plasterers, and applicators who want to add high-demand finishes to what they offer clients.
Here is what is on the table.
Metallo Fuso: The Real Metal Workshop
October 7 and 8 | 4 hours per day | $395
This is a two-day class built around Metallo Fuso, a two-component coating made with real metallic alloy powders in Silver, Copper, Brass, and Bronze. This is not a paint and it is not a metallic effect. When you apply Metallo Fuso, you are working with actual metal. The surface is troweled, mechanically sanded, and polished through multiple stages until it looks and behaves like the metal it is made from.
Over the two days, students will mix and apply the product using proper technique and walk away with five professional studio samples ready to show clients. The class covers application, pot life management, the full sanding and polishing process, sealing and protection, commercial applications, and how to talk about the work with clients around spec and pricing.
Modern Minerals: Top-Selling Lime Plaster Techniques
October 7 | $350
This one-day class covers five of the lime plaster finishes with the most demand right now: Archi+ Tadelakt, VP Suede, Marmorino KS, Archi+ Argilla, and Concrete by Novacolor. They are taught together so students can understand how the materials relate to each other and where each one makes sense on a project.
Archi+ Tadelakt brings a smooth, sinuous, marble-like surface with a tactile quality that is hard to describe until you have worked with it. Archi+ Argilla is a lime and natural clay plaster with an earthy, matte depth that reads as modern and grounded at the same time. Marmorino KS offers a silky satin-to-matte finish that shifts depending on how it is troweled. Concrete by Novacolor delivers the architectural weight of a concrete finish. VP Suede rounds out the lineup as a new addition to the Novacolor collection.
Every material is taught with real product on real substrate. Students leave with samples and a solid working knowledge of how to apply, specify, and sell each finish.
